Rules
 
Fee for copy of State Register :- The State Council shall charge a fee of rupees ten only from persons applying for a copy of the State register under section 51.
 
Safe custody of Register and application fees :- Upon establishment of the State Council, the Register prepared under section 45 shall be given together with the application fees so received for registration in the custody of the Registrar of State Council.
 
Renewal fee for registration :- (i) Any person desiring to retain his/her name in the State Veterinary register shall pay to the State Council every five years a registration renewal fee of rupees fifteen only before the 1st day of April of the year in which his registration renewal falls due. (ii) Where the said Renewal Fee is no paid within the period mentioned in sub-rule (1) and the defaulter’s name shall stand removed from the said Register shall be restored to it only after the payment of the said renewal fee with fine which shall be rupees fifteen only for every month or part thereof of his fault : Provided that the name so removed may be re-entered in the State Register on an application in the prescribed Form-XXVII filled by the Veterinary Practitioner on payment of fee of rupees twenty-five only as prescribed under section 50 of the Act in this behalf in addition to the usual renewal fee of rupees fifteen only as prescribed under section 48.
 
Transfer of registration :- (i) A registered veterinary practitioner of other State who wants to practice veterinary medicine in the State, may apply on payment 0f fee of rupees fifteen only to get his name registered in the State Veterinary Register. On application in Form-XXV duly recommended by the State Council where he/she is already registered to get his name transferred onto the Register of the State Council along with a “No Objection Certificate” of the State Council where he/she is already registered. The Registrar of the State Council shall satisfy himself before transferring his/her registration in Form-XXVI that no disciplinary proceeding is pending against him/her or for any other reasons it appears to him that the application for transfer is not bonafide. (ii) The Registrar of the State Council before entering the name of such practitioner shall ensure that he has paid all dues of the State Council from where he is transferring his registration.
 
Provisional registration :- The state Council shall issue provisional registration certificate in Form-XXIV to such graduates who have completed their academic requirements for the degree course. Every graduate is required to get himself/herself registered provisionally before being allowed to undergo internship training for the prescribed period. The provisional registration shall be limited only for the internship training. Every Graduate shall be required to apply for the provisional registration on the prescribed Form-XXII through the Dean/Principal of the Veterinary College concerned from where he/she completed academic course. On completion of internship training, every graduate shall apply for permanent registration and shall surrender his/her provisional certificate along with application for registration to the State Council.
 
Issue of certificate of registration :- :- (i) The Registrar in accordance with the decision takenUnder sub-sections (3) and (4) of section 45 shall enter the name of such veterinary practitioner in the Register and shall thereupon issue a certificate of registration in Form-XXI. (ii) In the event of loss or destruction of the registration certificate is valid may apply in prescribed Form-XXII on payment of a fee of Rupees ten only as prescribed under section 54 of the Act. The Registrar on being satisfied shall grant a duplicate certificate. The certificate issued under this rule shall be marked ‘DUPLICATE’.
 
State Veterinary Registrer :- The State Government or the State Council, as the case may be, shall, as provided under section 44 maintain the State Veterinary Register for registration in Form –XIX prescribed containing the names and other relevant particulars of persons possessing the recognized veterinary qualifications and registered with the State Council under the Act.
 
Application for registration and registration fee :- (i) Every person who holds a recognized qualification included in the First and Second Schedules to the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 and resides in the State and is not otherwise disqualified shall apply to the Registration Tribunal/the Registrar, as the case may be, in prescribed Form-XX duly filled in and signed by him along with provisional/degree certificate in original. Every applicant should submit three copies of the recent passport size colour photograph. (ii) Every such applicant shall be accompanied by a registration fee of Rupees twenty-five only through Bank Draft/IPO drawn in favour of Registrar, West Bengal Veterinary Council.
